With effect from the 15th of November 2016, all Indonesian exports to the EU of timber and timber products must be accompanied by a FLEGT licence.
The Indonesian FLEGT licensing scheme includes fuel wood, wood in the rough, wooden tools, wooden packing material, builders’ joinery and carpentry of wood, wood pulp, paper and paper products, kitchen and tableware, furniture and other products. More information on whether a product requires a licence can be obtained from the EU TARIC database.
Economic operators shall quote the FLEGT licence reference number in Box 44.7 of the Single Administrative Document (SAD).
The Customs Department shall perform documentary and/or physical checks prior to release as required.
