Your attention is being kindly drawn on importation of tyres originating in the People’s Republic of China (CN), falling under CN Codes 40112090 and 40121200
In accordance with EC Regulation 163/2018, importation of tyres under the above mentioned CN Codes have become subject to registration and possible backdated anti-dumping and countervailing duty as from the 3rd February 2018, the entry into force of the regulation.
In essence this means that such importation might be liable also to such duties and VAT depending on the decision that the EU Commission shall have to take within the next nine months. It is to be pointed out that, nevertheless, these commodities are liable to excise duty as well.
