IMPORTANT NOTIFICATION

Importers of Non–Harmonised products (refer to the attached document) are hereby being requested to register with Customs Department as an Excise Registered Merchant [Chap.382 Excise Duty Act Article 10(C)(2)].

• Application for an Excise Registered Merchant 

Filled in applications, together with other supporting documentation (see application) are to be submitted in person to the Non–Harmonised Goods Unit, Customs Annex B, Lascaris Wharf, Valletta, during the following hours:

APPLICABLE FOR THE SUMMER PERIOD 16^th JUNE – 30^th SEPTEMBER                                                                        
Monday to Friday from 0800h -1300h and Saturdays from 0800h -1200h.                                                                         
OR

APPLICABLE FOR THE WINTER PERIOD 1^st OCTOBER - 15^th JUNE                                                   

Mon to Fri from 0800h-1200h and 1330h-1600h and Saturdays from 0800h-1200h

 Applicants are also to insert an estimate of their annual importations in the blank box underneath the field marked Type for the purpose of guarantee calculation. Such guarantee shall cover any import duty, excise duty, VAT and any possible fine (multa) which may be due.
