The Customs Department would like to inform Economic Operators that a series of training courses on ‘The Principles of Classification’ are planned to start in the first week of March 2022. These are scheduled to be delivered in our training premises Ħal-Far Groupage Complex, Ħal Far.
Training material include detailed guidelines for the Interpretation of the legally binding Combined Nomenclature, the Harmonised System Explanatory Notes (HSEN) and the Combined Nomenclature Explanatory Notes (CNEN) which support the Combined Nomenclature and the Binding Tariff Information legally binding decision. Strategies on how to classify goods according to the product literature conferring to EU Regulations will be dealt with in detail.
Interested Economic Operators are requested to fill the application form, and then submit a scanned copy of the document; together with proof of payment of €25; by not later than 15th February 2022, to Customs Training Unit on email address [email protected]. Bank details are listed in the application form.
Each training course will run over 2 days between 08:30hrs and 14:30hrs with a capacity of 10 participants. The first course is scheduled for Wednesday 2nd and Thursday 3rd March 2022. Applications will be processed in chronological order on a first come first served basis. Further course dates will be communicated in another notice if applications for the course exceeds the set number.
