Customs facilitations to take goods to Turkey to help the victims of the earthquake
by Rachel Ann Galea | Feb 13, 2023
The European Commission has approved facilities in order to smoothen the customs procedures for goods to be exported or re-exported to Turkey to help the victims of the earthquake.
In the case of non-Union goods entering the EU with final destination Turkey, the goods can be declared orally for temporary admission when entering the customs territory of the Union (therefore without payment of duties or VAT). In the case of Union goods, an oral declaration in lieu of an export declaration can cover those goods declared for export.
For further information, please contact Mr Alan Mamo, Director Compliance & Systems (Tel: 25685110) or by email (alan.mamo@gov.mt)
