15th November 2013 – A Maltese woman, who in March 2013 was intercepted with 551 undeclared songbirds hidden in 18 wooden boxes and 9 plastic containers at the back of a van arriving from Sicily by sea, was fined €4,650 by the court. The van, that was used to carry the birds into Malta, was also confiscated.
