Anti-Money Laundering Customs Officials have once again intercepted undeclared cash at the Airport.
A passenger at the MIA Departures’ Lounge was stopped by the Officials for a routine check and 15, 400 euros were elevated.
The passenger agreed to an out of court settlement whereby he forfeited the cash in excess of 10,000 euros.
Since the beginning of of January 2019, the Malta Customs Department Officials intercepted a total of €891,936 in undeclared cash in 38 seperate cases.
