During routine inspections at the arrivals terminal of the Catamaran from Sicily, a van was stopped before exiting the terminal and found to be carrying alcoholic goods. The van passed through the Customs check point without declaring the goods and subsequent searches in the vehicle resulted in the elevation of 338 bottles of alcoholic items including whisky, liquor and wine.
The items were seized pending investigation by the Customs Officials. It is important to note that anyone carrying excisable goods through the borders is obliged to declare them to Customs.
