All bottles seized amount to a total market value of €456,364
The Department of Customs seized 39,578 bottles of wine and another 584 bottles of spirits between January and September 2021.
The confiscated lot amounts to a total market value of €456,364, €430,084 in value pertaining to the wine bottles and €26,280 to the bottles of spirits.
The wine bottles’ endangered taxes amounted to €6,146 in excise duty and €78,521 in VAT. As for the bottles of spirits, endangered taxes amounted to €2,224 in excise duty and €5,131 in VAT.
