Malta Customs intercepts €30,775 in undeclared cash at the Airport

Malta Customs intercepted a total of €30,775 in undeclared cash during screening checks at the Malta International Airport.

Two Dutch passengers en-route to The Netherlands and a Syrian passenger, who was travelling to Iraq/Erbil, stopping over in Istanbul, were randomly approached by Customs Officials for routine checks and were found to be in possession of undeclared cash. In the latter case, Customs Canine Charlie made a positive indication towards the Syrian passenger.

All three passengers were offered an out-of-court settlement to which they agreed to and signed and were administered a fine.
